The Clermont Turkey Trot 5K to benefit South Lake Historical Society and Back to School is Cool will be held November 17, 2012 starting at 8 a.m. The race starts and ends at South Lake Historical Society, 490 W. Avenue, Clermont. You may register at clermontturkeytrot.com Registration/donation is $25 per person. The South Lake Historical Society is a non-profit organization with a 501(c)(3) tax status. They work to preserve the history of Clermont with original and replica buildings such as; The Train Depot, Townsend House, the Kern House, Cooper Memorial Library, and the Quonset Hut (WWII museum). To date thousands of children have had the embarassment of lack of needs removed due to assistance from Back to School is COOL-Lake County!
