Summer learning program providers will learn techniques to incorporate science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) into their summer programs to make them 'out of this world'. Providers will learn about opportunities to teach NASA science in their out-of-school programs and will be able to do and take home fun astronomy activities from three NASA-created curricula that they can implement or adapt. This conference is intended to increase a provider's understanding of the universe and ability to teach astronomy, introduce a variety of free resources and opportunities from NASA for out-of-school time, and supply ideas and activities to take home for immediate use. Participants will discover how nature and outdoor experiences enrich summer learning programs and promote positive academic and social-emotional youth development.
