BSS is proud to host the highly acclaimed Koegal Autism Center for a 2 day workshop in the Orlando area. The Koegel Autism Research & Training Center is overseen by Drs. Robert and Lynn Koegel. The major goals of the center are increasing our understanding of autism spectrum disorders, the development and implementation of state-of-the-art pivotal response treatments, as well as the improvement of elementary and secondary education efforts for children with autism and other severe disabilities.Pivotal Response Treatment® is a state of the art, research-based intervention for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD). PRT® is a naturalistic intervention model derived from Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). PRT® targets pivotal areas of a child's development, such as motivation, responsivity to multiple cues, self-management, and social initiations. These skills are pivotal because they are the foundational behaviors upon which learners with ASD can make widespread and generalized improvements in many other areas. By targeting these critical behaviors, PRT® results in widespread, collateral improvements in communication, social, and behavioral domains. This model also facilitates social interactions with typically developing peers and demonstrates the effectiveness of peer training. This conference is an opportunity for parents and professionals working with inidividuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) to learn about the foundational PRT research and methodology. Level 1 PRT Certification available for attendees.12 BACB approved CEU’s provided with registration.PRT Pocket Guide will be available for pick up at the conference for those who choose to purchase it along with the registration.Boxed lunch will be provided.
