Russel Brand recently left for a trip to Australia and before he did, he gave his friends a whole bunch of money so they could hand it out to the homeless in L.A. over the holidays.
Who knew Russell was such a sweet guy?? Sources say Russell didn't want them to be left high and dry overnight so he asked his friends to make sure these guys are OK while he's away.
They have been taking them food and making sure they've got warm clothing and a few dollars in their pocket until he gets back.
The source adds that Russell usually spends around $2,000 a month, "just helping people out." How awesome is that!
