CEO of Facebook Mark Zuckerberg donated 18 million Facebook shares to the Silicon Valley Community Foundation, a non-profit organization that provides grants to various local needs.
The Facebook shares are each $27 a share so the total donation is about $500 million.
Zuckerberg said in his Facebook post that they plan to look for "areas in education and health to focus on next."
