Whitney Houston would have turned 49 yesterday.  R.I.P.
And to mark the occasion, her daughter Bobbi Kristina and her boyfriend Nick Gordon got Whitney's initials tattooed on their wrists.

Jessica Simpson's father, Joe Simpson got a DUI August 4th!  Yup, and we're just now hearing about it.  They did a nice job concealing that!!
We're told LAPD cops pulled Joe's car over around 10 PM ... and during the stop, officers got the feeling he was intoxicated and ultimately cuffed the famous pop and took him to the pokey.
Joe was booked and spent the rest of the night behind bars. He was released without having to post bail at 9:41 the following day.

In a radio interview yesterday, Alanis Morissette hinted that she might be in negotiations to be a judge on "American Idol" next season.
When asked if "Idol" has ever contacted her about judging, Alanis said, "I'm in talks with somebody right now, I can't name any names, but I'm pretty excited at the thought of doing it more formally.
"I still have to investigate further, and that's all I can say."    This comes to us from our friends at KMXB Mix 94.1 out of Las Vegas.  They have audio from their interview on their website, and shared it with us here.
Meanwhile, the "New York Post" is reporting that "Idol" has asked DIDDY if he's interested.  Supposedly, he isn't hot on the idea at this point.  Sources tell E! News that he's considered a "long shot."

Late last night, ESPN.com reported that Orlando would send Howard to the Los Angeles Lakers.   Here's how it breaks down:
The Lakers get:  Dwight Howard from the Magic.
The Nuggets get:  Andre Iguodala from the 76ers.
The 76ers get:  Andrew Bynum from the Lakers . . . and Jason Richardson from the Magi
The Magic get:  Arron Afflalo and Al Harrington from the Nuggets . . . Nikola Vucevic from the 76ers . . . and rookie Moe Harkless, who the 76ers just drafted in June.  They'll also get a first round draft pick from each of the other three teams.
Technically, the deal has not been finalized yet, but ESPN says that it's all-but-official, and that the NBA is expected to sign off on it sometime TODAY.
Howard and Bynum are free agents after this coming season.  They COULD sign extensions with their new teams . . . but because of how NBA contracts work, they would make more money by waiting until their free agency next summer.
