What It Is: Congratulations are in order for Shakira and her boyfriend, soccer player Gerard Piqué. The couple has welcomed their first child, a baby boy named MilanMilan weighed approximately six pounds, six ounces.Tuesday morning, before the birth, Shakira tweeted, “I’d like to ask you all to accompany me in your prayers on this very important day of my life. Shak.” Spanish media reports had suggested that the singer had scheduled a Caesarean section, so she knew that Tuesday would be her delivery date. Shakira and Piqué had recently launched a virtual “baby shower” that encourages visitors to donate money that will go towards providing food, vaccines or other necessities to babies in need around the world.

What It Is: Surprisingly, the biggest controversy stemming from PRESIDENT OBAMA'S inauguration Monday has nothing to do with his birth certificate.It's whether or not BEYONCÉ lip-synced the national anthem.  Beyoncé's performance was pretty stellar, and got rave reviews.  But is that because she didn't actually sing it?  It's standard procedure with a performance like this for musicians to record a BACKING TRACK that they can sing and play along to. And yesterday, a spokeswoman for the Marine Corps Band . . . which backed up the performance . . . said that Beyoncé made the decision to rely ENTIRELY on that track.  She said, "We all know Beyoncé can sing. We all know the Marine Corps Band can play. We do not know why she decided to go with the pre-recorded music at the last minute."

What It Is:  Boy Band Extravaganza: New Kids on the Block Is Touring with Boyz II Men and 98 Degrees This Summer:they're calling it "The Package Tour." For now, the dates stretch from May 31st through July 13th. All three groups were on "The View" yesterday to announce the tour.  By the way, New Kids are releasing a single called "Remix (I Like This)" next Monday . . . and their new album, "10", will be out April 2nd.
